Kontras (Commission for 'the Disappeared' and Victims of Violence) is a nonprofit organization and an independent legal entity. The organization was founded on March 20, 1998 right before the end of the Suharto regime. Inititally KontraS was set up to advocate cases of serious human rights violations, such as cases of enforced disappearances. Since KontraS was set up in times of political transition, KontraS' work focuses demanding state accountability, [make it work] justice and fulfill the rights of victims. These issues are battled through of mediation, legal assistance, research, lobby, victims' empowerment, publications and campaigns. Network for North Korean Human Rights and Democracy (NKnet)

NKnet was founded in Seoul in 1999. NKnet was formed by a group of citizens who wish to alleviate the suffering of the North Korean people and to promote human rights and democracy in North Korea. The founders of NKnet are all veterans of the pro-democracy campaign against military dictatorship in South Korea and NKnet is devoted to raising public awareness of the need to support democracy and human rights in North Korea. Organizational members of the network include Zeitgeist magazine and four national student associations that bring together more than 30 individual student unions.

NO FENCE is an organization that takes action to eliminate the concentration camps in North Korea. In the camps, there are numerous innocent people who are deprived of all human rights, forced to live an excruciating life as salves inside deadlines and end their lives there. So long as we live as humans, we simply cannot ignore this reality. We believe that it is our responsibility as the same human beings as the prisoners who share the world to eliminate such concentration camps. Open North Korea is a participant owned radio broadcasting organization which transmits programs for listeners primarily within North Korea. Anyone can participate in our program, and anyone who wants to deliver his or her voice to the North Korean people is welcome to do so. ORNK does not limit itself to any political, economic, social, cultural, or religious sphere. Any message which does not violate intellectual property rights or ethical regulations on international broadcasting can be broadcast through the ORNK. The ONK supports true reconciliation between North and South Korea.. Our aim is to provide opportunities of heartfelt and sincere conversation between the brethren of North and South Korean and the global community. The ONK also provides broadcasting consulting services to those interested in broadcasting to the North Koreans. If anyone is interested in broadcasting to the North Korean, but is unsure how, we are always willing and eager to help.

The People in Need (PIN) foundation was established in 1992 by a group of war reporters and foreign correspondents who were no longer satisfied with bringing back information to the Czech Republic; instead, they began sending out aid. It gradually became established as a professional humanitarian organisation focused on providing aid to crisis areas and supporting adherence to human rights around the world. Over the past 20 years, it has grown into one of the biggest non-profit organisations in Central Europe and has also become active in the field of education as well as helping those living in social exclusion.
