Recently, the North Korean authorities have been cracking down on the spread of the Korean Wave.

The North Korean authorities recent crackdown on the Korean Wave is not its first. They had already implemented concentrated controls and crackdowns to stop spread of the Korean Wave. However, the Korean Wave, which has been secretly spreading among young people in college, has spread to executives of the party, the administration, and trade agency since few years ago, and now, people who work in National Security Agency or other security agencies are being influenced by the Korean Wave.

According to information received from Open Radio for North Koreas source on the 20th of this month, the Peoples Safety Agency is controlling quick spread of the Korean Wave. The agency dispatched inspection teams to each province and enforced extensive crackdowns and controls in the North Korea and China border regions such as Yangkang Province, Jakang Province, North Pyongan Province, etc.

This Peoples Safety Agencys concentrated crackdown was initiated by the security education that had been held at the National Security Agency. According to the source, the National Security Agency organized the security education team and had a crackdown on drugs and illegal cell phones last July. Now, the Peoples Safety Agency has directly started to work to block spread of capitalism.

The source said that Peoples Safety Agencys crackdown was initiated not only to block spread of the Korean Wave but also to compete with the National Security Agency. The National Security Agency recently arrested city agent Seo Jun Ho for drug smuggling. He died in prison on May 25th.

The Peoples Safety Agency, itself, however is not free from the influence of the Korean Wave. On the 9th of this month, Mr. Ahn (36 years old), who worked in a safety agency in Hyesan, was arrested for watching South Korean dramas and movies, so he was dismissed from the agency and the party and banished to remote area in the mountains in Yangkang Province.
