North Korean defectors that had been sent back to North Korea and subsequently filmed by the government this past January claiming to have been lured away from the “fatherland” by the “puppet regime” of South Korea were arrested for attempting to escape a second time from the country. Kim Kwong-Ho, his wife, and young daughter are the first defectors to be arrested in China since Park Geun Hye requested that Xi Jinping show more leniency towards North Korean defectors.

 

Many defector organizations predict that if they are repatriated back to North Korea, it is highly possible that they will get execution.
