Sung Kim, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, has called for improvement in human rights in North Korea at a forum in Seoul on Tuesday.

The Ambassador said that it is "heart-wrenching" to witness the impact of the regime on citizens in North Korea. He stated that it is "unfortunate" that North Koreans were unable to live a decent life in North Korea because of the human rights abuses.

It is the second time in two days that a high-ranking official from the U.S. has commented on the human rights situation at a forum on North Korea. Robert King, the Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, comments were delivered by proxy at a forum in Seoul in Monday in which he condemned the human rights situation in North Korea.
