An increasing number of drug addicts in the North Korea-China border regions shows that drug use is spreading in North Korea.

According to the German daily newspaper, Süddeutsche Zeitung, the drug most people are addicted to is amphetamine. Until last year, North Korea produced amphetamine on a national level. In addition, high-end restaurants in North Korea offer amphetamine as dessert or instead of coffee, Süddeutsche Zeitung added.
