The worlds attention may have been focused on the increased surveillance along the Chinese in recent months, but the regime has also increased surveillance along the Joint Security Area at the demarcation line.
A military official told Yonhap News that two steel towers have been erected along the JSA to help better monitor the DMZ. The two towers are reported to be 60 meters in height.
The addition of the towers is said to have been in response to the two North Korean soldiers who defected across the DMZ last fall.
